The Église Sainte-Geneviève des Bressis is a catholic church located in the Cran-Gevrier neighbourhood of Annecy. It was designed in the modernist style by architect Paul Jacquet and was completed in the 1960’s.
At the end of spring, I went on a hike to Le Môle, in the Chablais Alps above Bonneville.
Last spring, I went on a hike in the Bauges mountains: Starting from Lathuile, south of Lake Annecy, I walked a loop around Roc de Four Magnin, a smaller mountain located between Roc des Boeufs and Montagne du Charbon.
“Annecy Paysages” is a yearly open-air festival featuring artistic and live plant installations by landscape architects, visual artists and architects who reinterpret the city’s open spaces. Just like the first edition last year, it takes place in the center of Annecy until the end of summer. Here is a map of all the artworks and the PDF brochure.
Last spring, I went on a walk in Haute-Savoie near Lake Geneva (Lac Léman): Starting from Thonon-les-Bains, I walked to Yvoire, a small medieval town by the lake, passing through the Châteaux des Allinges (Castles of Allinges) on the way.
Earlier this spring, I went on a hike to Vallée du Laudon, an area in the Bauges mountains located between Montagne d’Entrevernes and Semnoz, above Saint-Jorioz.
Earlier this spring, I went on a hike to Mont Orchez, in the Chablais mountains above Cluses. I also visited Cascade de l’Englennaz, a waterfall in Cluses.
In early spring, I went on a hike around Pointe de Chenevier, a mountain opposite Pointe de la Rochette on the other side of Col de la Forclaz.
The Château de Chaumont is a former castle located in the village of Chaumont in Haute-Savoie, below Le Vuache. It was built starting in the 12th century and was razed by the French in the 17th century. These days, only a few fragments of walls remain, but the hill it was built on is now a park that offers a great view on the plain below and the surrounding mountains. In very clear days, it is even possible to see the Mont Blanc.
