Tokyo walk: Harajuku & Aoyama

Tokyo Midtown is a high-end complex in Roppongi, complete with a shopping mall, offices, apartments and a luxury hotel (Ritz-Carlton). Behind it, there is also a park, including a Japanese garden called Hinokicho Park.
For my last hike in Japan, I went back to the Lake Sagami area. I went to Mount Mikuni, Mount Shoto and Mount Jinba, basically following this itinerary, except that I took the bus at the beginning.
The Yanaka (谷中) neighbourhood is located between Sendagi and Nippori stations. It is known for its large number of buddhist temples and cemeteries, the biggest of which is the Yanaka cemetery.
Sunshine City is a commercial complex in the Ikebukuro area: It features a variety of facilities including an office building, an aquarium, a shopping center and the Sunshine 60 Observatory. At 250m, the latter offers the highest point of view in the neighbourhood and a great view on Tokyo.
Arakawa Shizen Park (荒川自然公園) is a public park in Arakawa City, near the Arakawa Nanachome (荒川七丁目) stop of the Toden Arakawa line. It has a couple of ponds (one is crawling with turtles), a few sports facilities and some weird statues. It is also a popular spot during sakura season.
From Asakusa, an alternative to walking for reaching Tokyo Bay is to take the Tokyo Cruise Ship water bus. It follows the Sumida River southwards until Hamarikyu Garden and Hinode Pier. It is then possible to switch boat to pass under the Rainbow Bridge and reach Odaiba.
After eating ramen, I was walking at random and taking pictures in Ikebukuro. Next thing I knew, I was on a pilgrimage through the temples in the area, ending at Gokoku-ji in Bunkyo.
Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden (旧芝離宮恩賜庭園) is a garden in Minato, Tokyo, located next to the Takeshiba Pier.
