In the fall of 2020, right after walking Circuit du Calvaire in Thônes, I went on another loop called Circuit Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Like the loop with a similar name in Chambéry (Promenade de Jean-Jacques Rousseau), it is named after Genevan philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who stayed in the area for a day. The loop passes by Manoir de la Tour, the location of a story, “L’Idylle des Cerises”, recounted in his book “Les Confessions”.
Last spring, I went on a hike near Annecy: I reached Barrage de Brassilly, a dam on the Fier river, and walked along Nant de Calvi.
Last winter, I went on a walk to Cascade de la Belle Inconnue, a waterfall near Thônes.
At the beginning of the summer of 2021, I went on a hike to Roc de Charmieux, in Le Grand-Bornand. It is the westernmost summit of the Bargy range, a subchain of the Bornes mountains.
During the summer of 2020, I walked to Tête des Annes and Pointe des Delevrets, in Le Grand-Bornand.
At the end of summer 2020, I went on a hike near Chamonix: Starting from the upper station of the Planpraz cable car, I walked to Plaine Joux in Passy, passing by Col du Brévent, Pont d’Arlevé and Refuge de Moëde Anterne. I had already been in the area many years ago, when I went to Col d’Anterne.
In the summer of 2021, I went back to Aillon-le-Jeune: This time I walked to Mont Morbier, Mont Pelat and Mont de la Vierge.
At the beginning of spring, I walked from Saint-Jean-de-Sixt to Les Confins in La Clusaz, passing by Col des Mouilles.
