Hike to Rochers de l'Aigle (Bonneville)

At the end of winter 2021, I went on a hike to Rochers de l’Aigle, above Bonneville.

Here is a map of the path I walked:

In the morning, I took a train to Bonneville. I then started walking towards Col du Réray. On the way, I made a detour to a small waterfall called Cascade du Dard. At Col du Réray, I took a trail to Grand Château, the summit of Rochers de l’Aigle. There was a viewpoint there with a great view on the Arve valley and the Bornes mountains. I then followed a trail along the cliff. It was not marked on the IGN map but it was easy enough to follow. After I left the ridge, I followed a dirt road in the forest for a while in order to get to Chez Béroud, below Le Môle. I went down to the hamlet of Les Granges then walked on the paved road to Chez Béroud. From there, I started on the way down to Bonneville, passing through Le Pertus and Sentier des Maquisards. Finally, I waited for the train back to Annecy at the train station.
