Walk in Seynod: Parc du Val Vert, Parc du Pré de Vassy
Last winter, I went on a walk in Seynod, a neighbourhood of Annecy. Coming from the old town of Annecy, I visited Parc du Val Vert and Parc du Pré de Vassy, then went back.

Promenade de Jean-Jacques Rousseau (Chambéry)
The Promenade de Jean-Jacques Rousseau is a short and easy walk in Chambéry that follows the footsteps of Genevan philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. It starts in the Old Town of Chambéry at Parc de la Calamine and goes up to Les Charmettes, a house where Rousseau lived with Madame de Warens between 1736 and 1742. It then loops back by passing through the Parc de Buisson-Rond and the Château de Boigne.
I didn’t actually walk the whole loop: It was getting late and dark so I went down to the city directly once I reached Les Charmettes.
Walk along Lake Geneva in Lausanne
Starting at the Tour Haldimand, I walked along Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) until I reached the EPFL campus in Écublens. On the way, I passed by the Parc du Denantou and its Thai pavillon, the Olympic Museum (although I didn’t go in), Ouchy and its castle, as well as many marinas and beaches.
Walk in Lausanne
Last summer, I went on a day trip to Lausanne, in Switzerland. I walked around and visited a few parks, the old town and the cathedral. At the end of the day, I walked along Lake Geneva towards the EPFL.
Walk in Annecy-le-Vieux: Parc Gabriel Fauré, Parc du Lachat, Parc Vignières-Pommaries, Parc des Raisses, Lake Annecy
I went on a walk up the hill to the old center of Annecy-le-Vieux, then went down to the lake, passing through a few parks along the way.
Walk from Pont de la Caille to Annecy
After crossing the Pont de la Caille, I went back to Annecy on foot, following trails I found on OpenStreetMap.
Croix-Rousse Hill
La Croix-Rousse is the second major hill of the city of Lyon, as well as the name of a neighbourhood located on this hill. After crossing the Saône from the Fourvière area, I walked up the “montée de la Grande Côte”, a street that links the Place des Terreaux with the Croix-Rousse neighbourhood. I then went down towards the Rhône on the east side of the hill.
Lyon: Walk along the Rhône
After leaving the Lyon Confluence area, I walked along the Rhône on the way to the Old Town of Lyon (Vieux Lyon), making a few detours here and there.
Lyon Confluence neighbourhood
Lyon Confluence is the neighbourhood of Lyon located south of the Lyon-Perrache train station, and north of the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Until not very long ago, it was an area solely dedicated to industry and full of warehouses, but after a few years of construction and millions of euros in investment, the urban-renewal project has brought new shops, restaurants, offices, housing and a new museum (Musée des Confluences).

Winter walk in Collex-Bossy & Ornex
Collex-Bossy and Ornex are two small towns located next to each other but on different sides of the France / Geneva border. Last Christmas, I went on a short walk in the area.
