Last fall, starting from Andilly not far from Col du Mont Sion, I walked through Cascade du Nant Trouble, Gorge des Usses (visiting the Bains de la Caille there) and Pont de la Caille.
Last fall, I went on a hike in Faverges, south of Lake Annecy: I walked up to the summit of Crêt de Chambellon, a small mountain that overlooks the town, then walked along the Eau Morte river, making a detour to the Source du Biel, which used to provide drinking water to Faverges.
Last fall, I went back to Chamonix, in the Balme-Vallorcine area: I walked up L’Arollette and Tête de Balme (which are mountains in Switzerland) then took a trail down along Glacier du Tour.
At the beginning of fall, I went on a hike to Mont Saint-Eynard, in the Chartreuse mountains above Grenoble.
Near the end of summer, I went back to Chamonix: Starting from the summit of Le Brévent, I went down to Col du Brévent and Planpraz then walked to La Flégère.
Last summer, I went on a hike above Les Contamines-Montjoie near Mont Blanc: I passed through Col de la Fenêtre on the way to Lacs Jovet.
Last summer, I went back to Désert de Platé, this time starting from the Flaine ski resort and walking a loop through Grandes Platières, Chalets de Sales and the Laouchet lakes.
Last summer, I went on a hike to Tête du Parmelan, in the Bornes mountains above Annecy.
At the beginning of summer, I went on a hike to Route de la Soif (Road of Thirst), a dirt road along the foot of the Aravis mountains that goes from Col des Aravis to Col de l’Arpettaz, and reached Ugine at the end of the day.
After getting down to Plan de l’Aiguille from Aiguille du Midi, instead of going back down to Chamonix directly, I went to Lac Bleu then hiked the Grand Balcon Nord (Great North Balcony) to Montenvers above the Mer de Glace glacier.
