Hike to Mont Truc (Saint-Gervais-les-Bains)
Last fall, I went on a hike to Mont Truc, in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. In French, its name would translate to Mount Thingy, but in Franco-Provençal, a truc is actually a small hill. I had already passed through the area, when I went on a hike to Mont Vorassay.
Here is a map of the path I walked:

In the morning, I took the train to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet then boarded a Car Région bus (line Y84) towards Les Contamines-Montjoie. I started walking to the Pâturages de Miage, on an easy trail from the hamlet of Le Champel. From the Pâturage, I walked up to the summit of Mont Truc. There was a great view from there: Vallée de l’Arve was covered with a sea of clouds. I ate lunch then started on the way down towards Les Contamines-Montjoie. When I reached the village, I made a detour to Jardin Samivel. I then waited for the bus back to the train station.
