Winter hike in Le Grand-Bornand
In the winter of 2020, I visited yet another ski resort near Annecy. This time, I headed to Le Grand-Bornand in the Bornes mountains. I first walked a trail in Vallée du Bouchet then took a cable car and walked below Roc des Arces between the stations of Télécabine du Rosay and Télécabine de la Joyère.
Here is a map of the path I walked:
In the morning, I boarded a LIHSA bus (line 62) from Annecy to Le Grand-Bornand. I then took a marked trail towards Lormay at the end of Vallée du Bouchet (where I had already been for the hike to Pointe Percée in summmer), below Tête des Annes. I had brought my snowshoes with me but they were not needed since the snow was packed all the way (except a bit towards the end). There were passages on the road as well. At Lormay, I took a winter shuttle back to the center of Le Grand-Bornand. I then boarded a cable car, Télécabine du Rosay, to reach the alpine skiing slopes and the start of another walking / snowshoe trail. I followed it in order to reach Télécabine de la Joyère and get down to the valley. I then walked to the bus station and waited for the bus back Annecy.
