Hike to Croix des Esparzales
Last winter, I went on a short hike to Croix des Esparzales, in Thorens-Glières near Annecy.
Here is a map of the path I walked (download KML):
In the early afternoon, I took the recently opened SIBRA line 82 to Thorens-Glières (now a district of Fillière), the birthplace of Saint François de Sales. I visited the local church, then started on a loop in the countryside. The trail mostly went up until the Croix des Esparzales: It is a cross above Thorens-Glières with a great view of the Bornes mountains. After the cross, the trail goes back down directly to Thorens.
