Hike to Mont Veyrier & Mont Baron (Spring 2018)

Last spring, I went on a hike to Mont Veyrier and Mont Baron, two mountains on the north-east of Lake Annecy.

I had already been a few times to those mountains: The trailhead is in Annecy-le-Vieux, right next to the lake and not very far from where I live. I wrote a post about it a few years ago. This time, I changed the path a little: Instead of going directly to Col du Pré-Vernet from the trailhead near the Petit Port, I first took a secondary trail through Mont Rampignon. From the Col, I then found the main path to reach the ridge of Mont Veyrier. I followed that trail through the summits of Mont Veyrier and Mont Baron, until I arrived at the platform of the old Mont Baron cable car (Ancien Téléphérique du Mont Baron). There was a great view on the lake from up there. I ate lunch then started on the way down. Instead of going directly to Veyrier-du-Lac like I did the last time, I took a path in the forest until Le Biclop, right before the Talabar cliff. From there, I went down to Chavoire in Veyrier and arrived at Lake Annecy very soon after. Finally, I walked along the lake until the Petit Port.
