Hike to Circuit Central du Semnoz
Starting from La Tambourne, next to the Basilique de la Visitation in Annecy, I walked the Circuit Central du Semnoz, passing by a few viewpoints (belvédère) along the way.

Hike to Pointe de la Québlette & Circuit de l'Ovine
On one of my last outings in last year’s hiking season, I climbed up the Pointe de la Québlette, near the Plateau des Glières and the 3 Têtes des Bornes. I also walked a loop around it: The so-called Circuit de l’Ovine. I mostly followed this trail, with the climb to Pointe de la Québlette in addition.
Hike to Chapelle Saint-Michel de la Lésine / Circuit des Teppes
The Circuit des Teppes is a short and easy trail that starts in Jarsy and goes to the Chapelle Saint-Michel de la Lésine, with a good view on the Bauges mountains and valley along the way.
Hike to Montagne de Lachat (Dingy-Saint-Clair)
Last autumn, I went on a hike to Montagne de Lachat, in Dingy-Saint-Clair. It is located beneath the cliffs of Parmelan and the summit offers a great view on the mountain.
Hike to Tête Noire, Tête Ronde & Tête de l'Arpettaz
Last Autumn, I went on a hike to the so-called “3 Têtes” of the Bornes mountains: Tête Noire, Tête Ronde and Tête de l’Arpettaz.
Hike to Lac de Pormenaz & Col d'Anterne
At the end of the summer of last year, I went on a hike to Col d’Anterne and Lac de Pormenaz, in the Giffre mountains not far from the Mont Blanc. I basically followed this itinerary (in the other direction).
Hike to Montagne d'Âge
After Vallon du Fier, I continued walking and, after a detour through a trail along Nant de Calvi, I reached Poisy, a village northwest of Annecy. My goal was to cross the Montagne d’Âge, a small mountain that is part of the Jura mountains, from the north to the south on the way to Château de Montrottier and Gorges du Fier in Lovagny.
Hike to Baraque des Rognes & Nid d'Aigle (Mont Blanc)
Last summer, I went on a hike near Chamonix to the Baraque Forestière des Rognes, a tiny emergency hut located between the much bigger Refuge de Tête Rousse, where most mountaineers stop on their way to the summit of Mont Blanc, and Nid d’Aigle, a hut at the terminus of Tramway du Mont Blanc. I followed this trail direction (except I started and ended at the Bellevue cable car station): Sentier des Rognes on the way up and a path along Glacier de Bionnassay on the way down.
Hike to La Bastille, Mont Jalla & Mont Rachais in Grenoble
Last summer, I went on a hike in the Chartreuse mountains next to Grenoble: I visited La Bastille, Mont Jalla and Mont Rachais. I used these directions as reference.
Hike to Pointe de la Sambuy
I spent last summer (and more) in Annecy, in Haute-Savoie. I went back on a hike to Pointe de la Sambuy, in the Bauges mountains near Faverges (south of Annecy). This time, I took the standard trail to the summit.
