Last summer, I went on a hike in the Faucigny mountains: Starting above the Flaine ski resort, I visited the summits of Tête de Véret and Tête du Pré des Saix then walked all the way down to Cluses.
Last summer, I went back to Désert de Platé, this time starting from the Flaine ski resort and walking a loop through Grandes Platières, Chalets de Sales and the Laouchet lakes.
At the beginning of summer, I went on a hike to Chalets de Charbonnière and Chalets de Varan, above Passy.
At the end of the summer of last year, I went on a hike to Col d’Anterne and Lac de Pormenaz, in the Giffre mountains not far from the Mont Blanc. I basically followed this itinerary (in the other direction).
Last sunday I went for a hike in a place called the “Cirque du Fer à Cheval”, in Haute-Savoie. It is surrounded by mountains (unfortunately, I didn’t see much of them because of the fog) and has many waterfalls, that feed the torrent called Giffre. It is a very pleasant walk, almost flat, except at the end of the Cirque, that is known as the “Bout du monde” (“World’s End” in French) where the path becomes a bit steep. The view is worth it though.
