Hike from Rumilly to Seynod through Saint-Sylvestre / Cascade du Voile de la Mariée
During winter 2020, I went on a hike from Rumilly to Seynod, passing by the village of Saint-Sylvestre and Cascade du Voile de la Mariée (a waterfall in Chapeiry).

In winter 2020, I went on a hike in Pays de l’Albanais: I walked from Rumilly to Lovagny through Hauteville-sur-Fier.
Last fall, I walked from Poisy to Cran-Gevrier near Annecy, passing through Gorges du Fier, Parc Altaïs, Parcours Nature Fier et Erbe and Cercle de l’Eau.
Last winter, I walked from Rumilly to Albens, in the Pays de l’Albanais (the territory between Annecy and Aix-les-Bains). I passed by the Base de Loisirs du Plan d’Eau, the Etang de Crosagny and the river Deysse.
The Jardins Secrets (Secret Gardens) are a private garden and residence in Vaulx, near Annecy in Haute-Savoie. It was built over 30 years by one man and his family. It can be visited from April to October.
The Pays de l’Albanais is the region of Haute-Savoie between Lac d’Annecy and Lac du Bourget. Among the interesting things to do in the area are visiting the Jardins Secrets in Vaulx, the Gorges of the river Fier and the castle of Montrottier.
The Fier is a river that flows through Haute-Savoie and Savoie into the Rhône. Near Annecy, it has created a narrow canyon that is worth a look: The so called Gorges du Fier. The Castle of Montrottier is a medieval castle not far above the canyon, built to safeguard the crossing of the river.
