The Fondation Louis Vuitton is a museum financed by the LVMH corporation and located in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. The building was designed by architect Frank Gehry.

Parc de Bagatelle

Parc de Bagatelle is located inside Bois de Boulogne, in Paris. It was created in 1775 at the behest of Queen Marie-Antoinette. Its highlight is a rose garden featuring 10,000 rose bushes from 1,200 different species.

Ballon de Paris

The “Ballon de Paris” is a large helium-filled balloon located in the Parc André Citroën, near the Seine in southwest Paris. It has sensors for monitoring pollution but also takes passengers: The balloon goes up to 150m and stays there for a few minutes before going down. The view is quite nice even if it is not centrally located.

Observatory of Tour Montparnasse

The Tour Montparnasse is a 210-meter office tower in Paris. It was the tallest building in France until 2011. Its roof is open to the public and provides a great view on the city.

Mont Rond / Col de la Faucille

Last winter, on Christmas day, I went to Col de la Faucille, in the French Jura near Geneva. There is a ski resort there but there was barely any snow. I took the ropeway to the summit of Mont Rond and walked around for a bit.
