Hike along the Rhône between Pont de Grésin & Pont Carnot

In the spring of 2020, I went on a hike along the Rhône near Fort l’Écluse: I walked between Pont de Grésin and Pont Carnot on both sides of the river in Ain and Haute-Savoie.

In the morning, I took a Car Région bus (line Y22) and got off at Éloise. I took the path to get down to Pont de Grésin. Before crossing, I made a detour to Tines de Parnant, where a stream dug a deep canyon. I crossed the Rhône then went up towards Rocher de Léaz, where I had already been a few years ago. There was a great view from there, on Grand Crêt d’Eau, Le Vuache, Fort l’Écluse and the Rhône river. After that, I headed to Longeray and Défilé de l’Écluse. Then I walked a trail along the Rhône until Pont Carnot. I crossed the Rhône again and looped back towards Éloise passing through Clarafond-Arcine.
