Hike to Mont de Corsuet & Pointe de l'Ardre
In winter 2020, I went on a hike to Mont de Corsuet and Pointe de l’Ardre (a cape on Lac du Bourget). I had already been to Mont de Corsuet, coming from Col de la Chambotte. This time, I started from Grésy-sur-Aix on the east side.
Here is a map of the path I walked (download KML, download large map):
In the morning, I took a train from Annecy to Grésy-sur-Aix. I then went on the short way up Mont de Corsuet from the east flank. I reached Croix de Corsuet after a while: There was a good view from there on Lac de Bourget and the Bauges mountains. I started on the way down the mountain and made a short detour to Belvédère de la Gouanne aux Loups, which offered a good view on Lac du Bourget. After I reached Parking du Réservoir, I followed the road towards Brison-Saint-Innocent. I walked through the town on the way to Pointe de l’Ardre and Lac du Bourget. It has a park popular for picnics, as well as a small beach. However, since it was winter, there was hardly anyone there. After that, I had planned on walking Sentier Au Fil de l’Eau, a path on a boardwalk that goes from Pointe de l’Ardre to Grand Port d’Aix-les-Bains on the shore of Lac du Bourget. However it is closed between mid-october and mid-march every year for the tranquility of animals (especially birds) in the area. So instead, I boarded a bus to Grand Port and walked around until dusk. I then took another bus to the center of Aix-les-Bains and waited for a train back to Annecy.
