Tokai Nature Trail at Lake Sagami: Hike to Mount Arashi & Mount Sekiro
A few weeks ago, I went on a hike near Lake Sagami, west of Tokyo in Kanagawa Prefecture. I followed a section of the Tokai Nature Trail: The whole trail covers 1,697km and goes from Mount Takao in Tokyo all the way to Mount Mino near Osaka.
Here is the path I walked (download KML):
I started in the morning at Sagamiko station (Chuo Line). I then walked to Sagami Dam to reach the trailhead to the summit of Mount Arashi (嵐山; 406m). After getting down from the mountain near the entrance to the Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest, I followed this trail. It got me to Kenkyo-ji Temple (顕鏡寺) and then on to the summit of Mount Sekirou (石老山; 694m). After looping back to the starting point, I walked on the road near the shore of Lake Sagami until I reached Sagami Dam again.
