Tsukemen at Kikanbou in Kanda
Yesterday, I went to the Kikanbou tsukemen restaurant in Kanda. Kikanbou’s specialty is the so-called kara-shibi miso ramen and tsukemen: It is possible to choose from 5 different levels of spice in the soup, for both kara (the regular heat) and shibi (numbing pepper, that delays the sensation of heat). The photo above and below has the 4th level for each spice. It is pretty hot!

Kikanbou has 2 restaurants in Kanda, next to each other: One specialized in ramen (noodles served inside the soup), that seats ~10 people, and one specialized in tsukemen (cold, chewy noodles and hot soup served separately; you then dip the noodles yourself before eating), that seats ~20 people. The inside has a demon theme, with masks and other props. I have tried both places and they are equally recommended.
